ESW Named One of the World’s Most Innovative Suppliers

The ESW Team stands on a stage accepting the nuit-du-commerce-connecte award

21 November 2022 – ESW won a Silver Medal in an Innovative Supplier category at the 9th La Nuit du Commerce Connecté organized by républik Retail. More than 1,000 audience members attended the awards held at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris, France. Dubbed the “Oscars of retail”, La Nuit du Commerce Connecté judges handed out awards in multiple categories for Innovative Supplier, Retailer/Supplier Collaboration, and Innovative Retailer. More than 120 companies submitted entries.

Jérôme Duclos, ESW VP Country Director France, presented the project to the panel of retail leaders during a pitch session. A few weeks later, the French team won a silver medal at the award ceremony. Baptiste Ould Aoudia, Sales Manager France, and Jérôme addressed the audience.

“The idea is to re-invent the relationship between a brand and its shoppers,” Jérôme Duclos told the audience. “We say today that when a brand wants to go international or sell its product, it must manage its ecommerce store and business itself or use a marketplace.”

He contrasted the typical experience of brands feeling forced to manage all aspects of international expansion – localised website, checkout, logistics, tax and regulatory compliance, etc. – with ESW solutions.

“We re-invent the relationship,” Jérôme Duclos said. “We build all the infrastructure and value chain so that the brand can be live with its shoppers all around the world. It involves the platform being in the right language, calculating the correct currency and offering the right payment methods.

“We have our own payment platform. We calculate the customs and taxes, the logistics costs and we will manage the delivery from the brand storage centre to the other end of the world. We bring all this technology and expertise to help brands grow.”

This is the first time ESW has entered the prestigious competition.
